Sharing your iPhone Calendar

It's been a while but now I'm back. This time I will show how to share your iPhone Calendar between two or more people.

First, make sure that all participants have an Apple "iCloud" account which is free to set up and require iOS5 or higher.

Then log into your "iCloud" account by going to www.icloud.com and signing in using your Apple id and password.

Select the "Calendar" icon. You should see a screen similar to the screen below:

Click on the word "Edit" in the upper left column.  Click the "+" sign that appears next to the word "Calendars" and give your new calendar entry a unique name that will be used for sharing. I chose "PI/Family" for business and family use.

Next, click the icon next to the calendar that you just created (the icon looks like a wifi symbol) and select "Private Calendar". Enter the email addresses of the people that you wish to share this calendar with.

The people you invite will receive an email inviting them to share only this calendar between you and the people that receive your invitation. On acceptance of this invitation a new calendar will be created on their iPhone/iPad in addition to the calendar(s) that were already on their phones.

Now whenever you or the people that you are sharing this "shared" calendar with updates any calendar info, it will update on every ones iPhone/iPad at the same time for the shared calendar only.

Try it and tell me what you think...Later.
